The Professional Standards Councils are proud to support World Standards Day. Held on 14 October each year, World Standards Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of standardisation.
In Australia, professional standards schemes help associations and their members deliver high quality services to consumers. Australian Standards on compliance, risk management and compliant handling underpin the operation of schemes, with improvements in professional standards providing greater protection for consumers.
Compliance is an area of focus for the Professional Standards Councils. The Professional Standards Forum to be held later in October on ‘Managing compliance – tips tools and techniques’ will assist associations in developing effective systems for managing scheme and member compliance, consistent with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines and professional standards legislation.
