Certificate presented to CPA Australia in recognition of their new Professional Standards Scheme

Earlier this month, the Professional Standards Councils recognised the approval of CPA Australia Ltd’s Professional Standards Scheme. On Councils behalf, CEO Roxane Marcelle-Shaw presented a certificate to CPA Australia's President and Chair, Peter Wilson.

The new Scheme applies to all CPA Australia members who hold a current Public Practice Certificate issued by CPA Australia other than such members who also hold an Australian Financial Services Licence granted in accordance with section 913B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), not being a Limited Licence; and Representatives of licensees under section 913B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), not being a Limited Licence.

The 2-year Scheme allows CPA Australia to work through, and report regularly to Councils on, improvements to association governance and scheme management.

Ms Marcelle-Shaw commented, “The approval of a new Professional Standards Scheme is a significant achievement and a welcome commitment to protecting consumers through the continuous improvement of professional standards. The Professional Standards Authority will continue to work closely with CPA Australia to ensure all its statutory scheme management obligations are achieved."
