The Professional Standards Council of Victoria is inviting comments and submissions concerning a new professional standards scheme proposed by the Institute of Public Accountants. The proposed Scheme will operate in Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, the Northern Territory of Australia, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. The Scheme is intended to commence on 1 January 2019, but may commence sooner, on a day 2 months or more after the date of the gazettal of the Scheme after the said date when approved, and may remain in force for a period of up to 5 years from commencement. The Scheme will apply to all members of IPA except financial services licensees and their representatives, not being limited license, who reside in Australia and hold a current Professional Practice Certificate issued by the IPA.
