New professional standards scheme approved

The Professional Standards Councils congratulate the Association of Australian Certifiers (AAC) on their first professional standards scheme.

Operating only in New South Wales from 1 July 2026, the scheme will remain in force for a period of five years.

The approval marks a significant milestone for both AAC and the Councils, as a new association joins the national system. The inclusion of AAC broadens the reach of the system and highlights the value of professional standards frameworks across diverse disciplines.

The scheme delivers important benefits for consumers, providing confidence that certifiers operating under the scheme are committed to delivering quality services.

Councils’ Chair John Vines OAM and CEO Andreas Heger presented a certificate recognising the approval of the scheme to AAC CEO Jill Brookfield and President Robert Marinelli.

The Councils look forward to building a strong and collaborative regulatory relationship with AAC in the years ahead.
