Andreas Heger
Chief Executive Officer, Professional Standards Authority
Andreas Heger leads the Professional Standards Authority in its support of the Professional Standards Councils administration of national professional standards legislation and is responsible for delivering the Authority’s operational and regulatory support functions.
Andreas holds Bachelors of Laws and Arts from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Civil Laws (Masters of Law) from the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. He brings extensive experience across professional standards regulation, government, policy, strategy and law reform to the work of the Councils.
Most recently, Andreas served as Executive Director of the NSW Bar Association, where he oversaw the administration of the Association’s professional standards scheme. He has also held senior roles with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice and the (then) Council of Australian Governments Standing Council on Law and Justice, having worked in his early career at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Andreas is a person with disability. He is legally blind.
